Two Months Old

Two Months Old

It's amazing how much has changed in a month. Jackson has started hitting so many milestones:

- Came off the ventilator!
- Came off CPAP and vapotherm too and is just on a low flow nasal cannula now.
- Started taking full feedings via an NG tube
- Tried the bottle and nursing for the first time
- Moved to an open crib
- Started sucking on his thumb
- Is awake more often, he will stay awake for 30 minutes sometimes while we are holding him
- When he looks at you it seems like he sees you more and makes eye contact. He likes to look around more and take things in.
- He is a much more calm baby. We hardly hear him cry anymore since coming off the steroids. Most of the time he is very relaxed, and just lays back and looks at us.
- He is also such a happy baby. He has started giving us little smiles. He loves when we kiss him on the top of the head, he gives us a little smile then.
- He is a thinker, he always has his brow furrowed like he is thinking really hard about something. Unfortunately this makes him look worried 80% of the time.

Day 60

Jackson Day 60: 1800 grams or 3 lbs 15 oz. 2 months old!!! He graduated to an open crib today. They are just leaving the top up on his giraffe isolette for a little bit to see how he does before they move him to a new bed. They also switched his feeding back to 33 cc over an hour every 3 hours this afternoon. No spit up yet. He hasn't thrown up for nearly two days! We'll start trying to give him a bottle again tomorrow. He's doing great off the vapotherm. They have his oxygen flow turned down to .7 liter per minute. It's a great two month birthday! FOJSP!!!
