Day 61
Jackson Day 61: 1810 grams or 4 lbs!!! 4 lbs feels like a huge milestone. It's the smallest he can be to go home. He's continuing to do great on .7 liter oxygen per minute. We're getting close to weaning him down to .5 liter per minute, which is the maximum oxygen he can be on to go home. We're getting close! Now we just need to get him eating. Dr. Berger increased his feeding from 33 cc to 34 cc over a half. We're really hoping this doesn't bring back the reflux. So far so good. He's also now getting the bottle twice a day and nursing once a day. He did great with the bottle, he took 13 cc! A personal best for him. His previous max was 10 cc, but most of the time he was only taking 2 cc. His hematocrit is getting lower, down to 28. But they aren't giving him blood yet because they want to see him start making blood cells. But he will likely get blood again before going home. He's doing great!!! FOJSP!
