Day 54

Day 54: 1610 grams or 3 lbs 9 oz. another 3 oz gain! He's also grown half an inch, he's 15 inches now. He has got this growing thing down. They have increased his milk to 32 cc. He's doing great with the nursing, he didn't desat today while nursing, so that's progress. He had his follow up head ultrasound on his brain bleed today and the tech said it looks all good. We're still waiting on the official report, but no news is good news. If it was bad they would be rushing the report to us. They are trying to wean the oxygen again but he is not tolerating it real well. He's had to go back up to 1 liter  of oxygen per minute. But hopefully that will come soon. His hematocrit was 33 today, they don't like it to get below 30 so he may need blood again. But they want him to start making his own red blood cells so they are holding off. His retic count, which indicates if he is making blood, has come up to 1.5 so it is still low but making improvement from 0.  He's doing great. FOJSP!!!
